Election Commission of India will deploy 125 companies of central forces in West Bengal by February 25 for upcoming Assembly Elections, an official said.
“The district-wise list of CAPF coys has been forwarded by the chief electoral officer of West Bengal.”
Central forces will include 30 companies of Sashastra Seema Bal, five companies each of Central Industrial Security Force and Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force, 25 Border Security Force companies, and 60 companies of Central Reserve Police Force.
9 companies of CRPF each have been planned for Purulia and Jhargram districts. The forces will lay stress on area domination, especially in the sensitive zones.
The official added further that the ECI has started training 24,000 polling officers in West Bengal on Friday.
