Chandigarh University offers placement assistance to online students

Chandigarh University has received approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC-Distance Education Council) to begin offering distance learning programmes from January 2020 session. Dr RS Bawa, Vice-Chancellor, Chandigarh University made an announcement about the new additions to the courses provided at the university. He said, “Chandigarh University will start its admissions in the distance and online education programmes from January 2020 session.”
In its first phase, Chandigarh University will offer a total of 10 programmes, including BCom, BSc Travel and Tourism, BCA, BBA, BA, MBA, MCA, MA English, MA Psychology, and MCom.
“Students who enrol under distance and online programmes of Chandigarh University will be offered placement assistance and foreign education academic programme under the University International Academic Alliance Programme,” Dr Bawa added.
Students of distance education will be provided with a choice based academic model. They will be able to avail benefit from the NAAC A+ status of the university as the academic degree from the university will be globally acceptable and the degree holders will be able to credit transfer to foreign universities under the Washington Accord.
“The University has developed a technology-driven academic delivery platform through which students across the country will be able to access quality academic learning material, e-library resources, e-lectures, and value addition industry certification programmes that will enhance learning and job prospects,” he said.
