BJP leader Arjun Singh on Saturday claimed that five TMC MPs, including Saugata Roy, will submit their resignation anytime and join the saffron party. Dum Dum MP Roy, however, said BJP was spreading false news.
Amid speculation over Suvendu Adhikari’s future in the TMC, BJP MP Arjun Singh has claimed that Trinamool Congress’s Saugata Roy is likely to resign from the party with four other MPs.
Arjun Singh joined Chhath Puja devotees in Jagaddal Ghat in North 24 Parganas district on Saturday where he claimed that Dum Dum MP Saugata Roy is seeking to resign from the TMC.
“I am repeatedly saying that five TMC MPs will resign anytime and join the BJP,” MP Arjun Singh said.
When asked if Saugata Roy features in the list, BJP’s Arjun Singh said, “Saugata Roy pretends to be TMC leader and Mamata Banerjee’s mediator in front of the camera. He also communicated with Suvendu Adhikari. But once the camera moves, you can include Saugata Roy’s name also.”
On West Bengal transport minister Suvendu Adhikaris’s open revolt against TMC, Arjun Singh said, “Subhendu Adhikari is a mass leader. Mamata Banerjee has become a leader depending on Adhikari and few others who struggled and gave their blood for the party. Now she is denying the past and trying to make her nephew Abhishek Banerjee sit on the chair. No mass leaders will accept this.”
“Subhendu Adhikari is being insulted and he should quit Trinamool Congress. His close aides are being booked in false cases have also been harassed many times, but a mass leader cannot be stopped. Adhikari is a mass leader and is always welcome in the BJP,” Arjun Singh, a TMC-turncoat himself said.
BJP’s Arjun Singh went on to add, “The BJP will form government in West Bengal. Once Shubhendu joins BJP, this state government will not survive, it will be finished.”
FAKE NEWS, says TMC leader Saugata Roy
After Arjun Singh claimed that Saugata Roy was likely to resign from the party with four other MPs, the TMC leader hit out at the BJP and accused the BJP of spreading false news.
“This is part of BJP’s fake news campaign. This is Amit Malviya’s technique of spreading false news,” Saugata Roy was quoted as saying.
