Former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi’s health condition has deteriorated and he is now under mechanical ventilation at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).
Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the functioning of the former Assam Chief Minister’s organs have come down drastically.
“Doctors of GMCH have administered medicines to revive his organs. His health condition is deteriorating since Saturday evening,” the Assam Health minister said.
Himanta Biswa Sarma further said that the next 48-72 hours are very critical and a team of doctors is now closely monitoring his health condition.

Gogoi who was Chief Minister of Assam for consecutive three terms from 2001 till 2016, was admitted at Guwahati Medical College Hospital on August 26 after he was tested positive for Covid-19.
