Hero Motocorp to bear the COVID-19 vaccination cost for its employees

The country’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero Moto Corp NSE -0.46 % Thursday said it will bear the cost of the vaccination drive for its entire workforce, including permanent and temporary employees.

The company will also facilitate similar vaccination initiative across its group companies – Hero FinCorp, Hero Future Energies, Rockman Industries, Hero Electronix and AG Industries – and supply chain partners, with the total number of people going up to more than 80,000.

Additionally, a similar drive will be commenced for Hero MotoCorp’s Pan-India dealer network.

For the group companies and supply chain partners, the cost will be borne by respective companies. HMCL will facilitate the vaccination initiative.
The vaccination initiative will cover both shots of the Covid-19 vaccine in phases as defined by health authorities, and will be implemented as per the guidelines prescribed by the government, covering people over the age of 45 and those with comorbidities first, followed by a wider application in the general population.

“With the government opening up the vaccination process against the coronavirus for the corporate sector, we have decided to vaccinate our workforce and other stakeholders within the extended Hero family at no cost”, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.
