Ishant Sharma created history yesterday when turned up for the Indian test team for his 100th match. No specialist pacer has ever achieved the landmark for India with the exception of the legendary Kapil Dev. He was thus, honored before the match’s play started. He also got his team off to a dream start by removing Dom Sibley in the first over. In India’s batting innings, he went on to hit the first six of the match as well as his career.
Even as India suffered a dramatic collapse that saw them slip from 99/3 to 145 all-out, Ishant looked solid with the bat and contributed 10 crucial runs off 20 balls for his side. The 100th test has thus already proved to be a very eventful one for the pacer and he will only hope for more.
