If you happened to grow up in the ’90s in India then there are rather slim chances that you missed Jaaved Jaaferi, Naved Jaaferi, and Ravi Behl starrer dance reality show Boogie Woogie. In the general entertainment television world today there might be one dance reality show running on each channel but nothing really compares to the Boogie Woogie times that was the dream stage for aspiring dance talents in the country.
Well, the good news is when asked about it actor Jaaved Jaaferi was more than keen to bring the show back. Talking to Indian Express during the promotions of his upcoming film Coolie No. 1, Jaaved when asked if there are chances that fans will ever get to see Boogie Woogie return on TV said, “I would love to bring it back. If somebody out there is listening to this, please, we will come back. We don’t have our own platform so call us back we will do it. We are ready.”
The show no doubt was quirky, fun and everything we considered cool in the 90’s. Actor Rajkummar Rao had in fact once confessed that he had once auditioned for the show but got rejected. The show that kicked off in 1996 run till 2010 on Sony Entertainment television and bringing it back after the nostalgic phase that we’ve been through in 2020 might just be a very exciting idea.
