Union Territory of Ladakh becomes the first ever to vaccinate all its residents and guess population with first dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The Administration of UT of Ladakh has achieved 100 per cent vaccination with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to all its eligible population of a total of 89,404 people above 18 years.
The second dose has been administered to 60,936 people. This was done in less than three months of starting the third phase of vaccination, covering the 18-44 age group. A total of 6,821 Nepalese citizens living in the UT were among those vaccinated.

Ladakh’s guest population includes hotel workers, migrant labourers, and Nepalese citizens.
“With the efforts of PM Modi, Health Ministry, and all COVID warriors, Ladakh has become the first Union Territory in the country to vaccinate all people, including guest population, with 1st dose of COVID19 jab”, Ladakh BJP MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said.
The Health and Medical Department, UT Ladakh, is appealing to all its residents and non-residents, including govt employees, private employees/workers above 18 years working in different sectors and labour contractors and presently residing/working in UT Ladakh, who are yet to receive the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, to contact their nearest vaccination centre/health care centre/ healthcare workers such as ASHA /ANM to seek assistance in getting the Covid jab at the earliest.
