Three Maoists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Barachatti forest area of Gaya district in Bihar on Sunday. The operation started at 12:30 am on Sunday in the Barachatti forest area in Gaya.
The bodies of the Maoists, including that of zonal commander Alok Yadav, were recovered from the encounter area.
Four others have sustained injuries in the encounter between the Maoists and the security forces. The injured have been admitted to Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College in Gaya.
An AK series assault rifle and an INSAS rifle have been recovered from the spot. The encounter was led by the 205th battalion of the CoBRA along with Bihar Police personnel.
The CoBRA or the commando battalion for resolute action is a special jungle warfare unit of the Central Reserve Police Force that is deployed in the state for anti-Naxal operations.
