Big B joined fans and fellow Bollywood stars to pay tribute to the late star and honour his memory. Expressing his grief on learning about the legend’s passing, Bachchan wrote, “An institution has gone .. whenever the history of Indian Cinema will be written, it shall always be ‘before Dilip Kumar, and after Dilip Kumar”
Offering his condolences to the late actor’s family and widowed wife, Saira Banu, he wrote, “My duas for peace of his soul and the strength to the family to bear this loss.” “Deeply saddened,” he signed off.

News of his demise was confirmed by a doctor who was treating him for his ailment. The actor’s spokesperson, Faisal Farooqi later took to Twitter to make the official announcement.
“With a heavy heart and profound grief, I announce the passing away of our beloved Dilip Saab, few minutes ago. We are from God and to Him we return,” Farooqi tweeted.
The mortal remains of the late actor will be laid to rest in a funeral ceremony at 5 PM today. A tweet from the actor’s official handle read, “Burial today at 5:00 PM. Juhu Qabrastan at Santacruz Mumbai.”
Kumar was admitted to the hospital a few days ago after he complained of breathlessness. This was the second time he was admitted owing to age-related ailments.
