Kolkata: 19.01.2021. On Sunday evening well-known theatre and film actor Debshankar Halder and film actor Biswanath Basu paid tribute to Soumitra Chattopadhyay on his 86th Birthday at the Academy of Fine Arts, Kolkata. Debshankar Halder said Soumitra Chattopadhyay’s presence is everywhere and his birthday is the most memorable and auspicious day for each and every actor. Biswanath Basu said Soumitra Chattopadhyay was an acting legend and would remain very special to him as Biswanath shared screen space with him in many of his films.
Later, Sarod Maestro Pandit Tejendra Narayan Majumdar and Tabla Maestro Pandit Tanmoy Bose paid their homage on this auspicious occasion of the 86th Birthday of Soumitra Chattopadhyay by their majestic Jugolbandhi; breathtaking rhythms created by them left the audience spellbound.
