Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat attended the closing ceremony of Kedarnath temple and inaugurated a lodge for travellers in Badrinath during their visit.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are stuck at Kedarnath owing to harsh weather conditions following heavy snowfall. The two chief ministers took part in portal closing ceremony of Kedarnath temple amidst heavy snowfall on Monday.
DG (Law and order), Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar confirmed that the Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh chief ministers are stuck in Kedarnath due to extreme weather conditions.
On Sunday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, and Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat inspected construction work underway at Kedarnath in the state’s Rudrapayang district. They were accompanied by BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit chief Swatantra Dev Singh.
Referring to the floods that devastated Uttarakhand in 2013, the UP CM had added that the success achieved in restoring the trust of devotees as a result of work done under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat is commendable.
The Uttar Pradesh government also had to carry out the construction of a lodge for travellers at Badrinath, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had told reporters when asked about the reason for his trip to Uttarakhand.
