On Sunday, Shaan took to Twitter to share a cryptic post. “Life is too short .. let it be .. I can only explain myself that much .. and if you didn’t get it .. I will move on .. won’t give a shit .. it’s a waste of my time.. there are bigger issues in the world today,” he wrote.
While the singer has not named anyone nor referred to any incident, fans soon took to the comments section to refer to a recent interview to an entertainment portal in which he had shared his views on the current scenario of music in India.
Soon, it was deduced that he was taking a dig at rapper Yo Yo Honey Singh (without naming him) for his songs including ‘Char Bottle Vodka’, ‘Sunny Sunny’, and ‘Lungi Dance’. Shaan was quoted as saying that even though these songs had become quite popular among the youth, they had “no musicality”.
The singer, during the same interview, had also expressed his disappointment to see the current rap trend. He said that big companies and record labels go for such songs because they attract more views and that’s how even without great music, these songs turn out to be popular hits.
The 48-year-old singer apparently had also implied that the changed taste of the listeners had also helped these rap singers gain popularity.
